In
the 1930 Colonel Rino Corso Fougier thought that an aerobatics
school was necessary to improve military pilots' skills. He
asserted that collective aerobatics flying would enhance and
develop confidence, full control and coordination in aerial
combat maneuverings (ACM). For this reasons he established the
first aerobatics school at Campoformido Airfield (Udine).
After the War World II the
heritage of representing italian aerobatic school and nation
around the world was assigned to one of italian fighter squadrons
every year. Then squadrons like "Cavallino Rampante", "Getti
Tonanti", "Tigri Bianche", "Diavoli Rossi" e "Lanceri Neri"
has became legends. In the 1960 Italian Air Force General Staff
decided to assigned the role of National Display Team (P.A.N.)
to one squadron only. Therefore at Rivolto AFB, that are only
few kilometers far from the oldest Campoformido airfield, born
the 313th Aerobatics Training Squadron better known as the "Frecce
Tricolori".

the state of the art in the aerobatics. With the largest formation,
